Lethe loves the outdoors!  She teaches outdoor skills such as backpacking, primitive camping, kayaking and canoeing to female scout crews.


She is also very interested in history and genealogy having served on fundraising committees for both DAR and the Scouts.


She was a Board Member in the Andrew Carruthers Chapter of the DAR, and has served as State Chair, and National Chair and Vice Chair.

She currently plays Duplicate Bridge 2-3 times per week and was in the Travis County Master Gardener program from 2015 to 2023. Gayle Hight

Originally from San Antonio, Gayle has lived in Austin since 1974. She earned her BS and MBA from UT Austin, and MS from TWU. Her professional background is in fashion, banking, and higher education. Gayle recently retired from UT Austin after 35 years in marketing and program development for the McCombs School of Business and Cockrell School of Engineering. She has six grandchildren. Cheryl Renna

Cheryl has many interests and talents. She enjoys speaking Italian and traveling on a regular basis. She is an excellent businesswoman, a level 2 WSET sommelier, and played on the collegiate level in soccer at St Edwards in Austin 1993-1997.

Wendy, a graphic artist, author (with a new book coming out in January 2025), and a NYC commercial model for magazine and newspaper ads, enjoys international travel, drawing, writing and photography.


She loves exploring old cowboy towns in Texas, hiking in the greenbelt, and spending time with her family and her partner, Don. 


She's helped set up breast cancer awareness clinics for the Susan J. Koman Foundation in both the US and Europe, as well as volunteering for the Livestrong Foundation here in Austin.  When she volunteered for Austin Pet's Alive, she wrote fun and catchy descriptions of the dogs to help them get adopted.

Andrea Stone

Andrea, though now retired, was the former Executive Director of the Texas Bar Foundation and the past President of the National Conference of Bar Foundations, where she continues to volunteer.  She also volunteers for the Wilchester PTA in Houston and is a member of the American Lawyers Alliance and the Austin Lawyers Auxiliary.

Suzie Soderquist

Astronomy is Suzie's biggest passion along with hiking, landscaping, art history and conservation.  She has served as Conservation Comm Chair - Thankful Hubbard DAR, as a Docent - at DMA and is on the Board of Austin Astronomical Society.

Elizabeth grew up in Dallas, graduated from Baylor University and moved to Austin shortly thereafter. She has loved living in Austin ever since. She spends her free time boating on Lake Austin and Lake Travis and enjoying the live music scene in Austin. Karen Krajicek

Karen, an Austin native and athlete, likes to swim, run and bike and has the Hawaii Ironman twice and many triathlons.  She was the United States Military Athlete of the year in 1995.


She likes to travel and art, backpacks all over the world. She also teaches Silver Sneakers at Gold’s Gym and especially enjoys her Bible study group. 


She is a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Daughters of the American Revolution, and United Daughters of the Confederacy and volunteers for Mobile Loaves and Fishes.


A former Sunday School teacher, she is passionate about a program that ACC has for high school graduates called Capitol Idea help young people strike a path towards education and job security. She is also a member of the Reserve Officer Association (ROA).

Ellen Bowman

Ellen Bowman, an Austin natiive, was born into a creative and musical family.  Her mother was an opera singer and ran the University of Texas voice department.  Her father was an engineer for Tracor, a defense electronics company.  Ellen received a B.S. in Advertising from Texas and worked as an Account Executive for McCaffrey and McCall Advertising Agency in New York City.


Ellenis a member of The Garden Conservancy, the Hill Country Garden Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the National Society of Colonial Dames New York and Austin Chapters. In Newport, RI, Ellen was an executive trustee for Aquidneck Land Trust and currently serves on the executive committee for The Newport Art Museum.  She was also president of the board for The Windward School, a 3-campus school for language-based learning differences in New York City. 


She supports The Long Center for Performing Arts, the Blanton Museum, the Harry Ransom Center and Barton Springs Conservancy in Austin, TX. 


Ellen has overseen countless fund-raising events, two capital campaigns, a head of school search, and the creation of several organizations Strategic Plans.


Steven, her husband, and she have two sons and they split their time between Austin, TX and Newport, RI.  Their first son, Maxwell, is a musician living in Portland, WA.  The youngest, Mitchell, works in cyber security sales in Washington, DC.

Karen Pope

Karen has her PhD in Art History and is the Principal of Art inSight Inc Adventures in Art History, from 1995 to present. This has been her foundation for an adult lifetime of study, teaching and community programming.  Her skills include writing, editing, proof-reading, and public speaking.


Her volunteer work includes: NSCDA-TX; stewards of the Neill-Cochran House Museum - board chair 2010 to present; NSDAR; English-Speaking Union Leadership 2020-present; Heritage Society of Austin (now Preservation Austin), 1975-2000; Art League Group I, 2019-present; Women's Storybook Project of Texas board member, 2021-present.

Sylvia Imhoff

Sylivia is both an attorney (25 years) and a registered nurse/nurse practioner (42 years)!  She enjoys helping people legally and medically.  Before she received her law degree, she taught nursing at the the University of Texas and took care of preemies in the neonatal and pediatric ICU's.


She and her husband have 3 adopted children (2 from Russian orphanages).  She enjoys, speaking about adoption, landscaping, travelling to Europe, and living part-time in their Rockport home, where they love boating and grilling seafood.

Sandy Blevins

Sandy Blevins, who received her Masters of Education from Indiana University, spent years in the educational publishing business.  She enjoys listening and participating in all kinds of music, eating good food with friends and family, and sitting down with a good book from time to time.


She sings with A Cappella Unlimited Chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, and serves on the Management Team as Team Leader. She joined an investment club, Westbank Investors Network, 30 years ago and serves as the club’s treasurer. She also serves on the Board for WCID 20, her local water district. Her late husband has two grown boys, five grandchildren and two great-grandkids. They have lived on Lake Austin for 36 years.


Her professional career has focused in education as an elementary teacher, Reading administrator and in educational publishing in sales, editorial development, and management.

Krista Evans

Krista, though born and raised in Alabama, calls Texas home.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and her Masters in Public Administration. She enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, playing volleyball, museums, writing  and golf, working out, cooking, spending time with her great Pyrenees, and exploring Austin. Lisa Holzgrafe

A retired CPA, Lisa has lived in Austin for 50 years, but her family moved here in 1904!  She is interested in working as a docent or in the building preservation.  She is on the Advisory Council for Oak Hill Elementary and Liberal Arts and Science Academy.  She has served on the board of their local swim team and the Bridge Center of Austin.  Though she retired in 2019, Lisa is ready to expand her horizons, accept new challenges and meet new people!

Helen Young

Helen is happily married and has two grown children and a baby granddaughter. She has a Bachelor of Music in piano and voice performance and arranging from UNT, and an MBA from UT Austin. She played solo piano until she had children, then worked for the State of Texas mostly in executive management for 25 years.

Currently, Helen and her husband write and record songs and instrumental pieces for potential use in film, TV and commercials. Helen also is a volunteer pianist at her dad’s retirement facility.

She is married to Joel Broussard, a retired orthodontist.  She received her BA from Southwestern University and did graduate work at the University of Texas.  Jo Ella is a preservationist, having restored two building in Georgetown from the 1800's.  She's owned to antique shops, is an antique collector, and is a member of 3 antique clubs.  She is former docent Chair at the Governor's Mansion and is an avid book lover.

Susan Ashworth

Susan, a retired clinical social worker, has lived in Rollingwood for over 40 years, is a member of the Rollingwood Woman's Club, a member of the Tarrytown United Methodist Church, was responsible for programs in their Women In Faith group. She's a devotee of native Texas landscaping and belongs to the Native Plant Society and the Native Prairie Association. Her yard was featured on Central Texas Gardener in 2007 (YouTube - Susan Sanders on Central Texas Gardener) as an example of turning a typical surburban yard into a "urban prairie".  She plays the piano, sings in a choir, enjoys reading and gardening.
